At dinner the other night, our lovely young waitress had on what I thought was some kind of pattern — white on black, but it was skulls. Tastefully done — tiny skulls, but skulls just the same, and not for Halloween. I mean her top was adorable!
Then I looked up the fashion trend, and thanks to Alexander McQueen and other designers, it has been a BIG trend for years. Skulls are dotting everything from high-fashion sweaters and T-shirts (even cutouts in the backs of dresses) to socks and pantyhose. Oh and the jewels! And purses. Skull fashions are all over Pinterest. Skulls are considered good luck in some cultures, and during a trip out West a few years ago, we saw skulls as some pretty awesome decorating items. I won’t be sporting any skulls, but they are fashionable. With Halloween coming, I could be tempted.
